When the bottom fell out of the economy, and especially the housing markets around 2006 and 2007, there was a lot of gloom and doom among the marketing segment of the industry.
Sales were hitting bottom. Attitudes and enthusiasm were headed the same direction. Out of this storm a handful of leaders* rose to the challenge by creating The New Home Council, a volunteer organization with the sole goal of providing real and moral support to the men and women who marketed and sold our new homes in the Puget Sound region.

A record crowd enjoys dinner and each other prior to the award ceremony.
The organization was unusual in a number of ways then and now. First, there are no dues for the members. Today there are nearly one thousand members. Second, the organization has always been in the black financially. This happens because the many events, trainings, and gatherings are run by volunteers, with hard cost born by industry companies who benefit. like home builders, mortgage brokers, and others.
Tonight, Thursday, November 16, 2017, The New Home Council will celebrate the Ninth Annual Tribute Awards, celebrating the home builders, designers, architects, community developers, sales staff, and marketing gurus who make it all happen. Tune into this space tomorrow to learn who the big winners are.
It’s all about performance when the average sale is in the $300,000 and up level. It takes training, dedication and support of a strong back-up team.
The New Home Council is an independent team of industry professionals working together to meet the changing needs of the new home building industry through education, promotion, and recognition.
NEW HOME COUNCIL OBJECTIVE:
The Council will serve as the eyes, ears, and voice for members involved in all aspects of the housing industry, ensuring members access to high quality professional, accurate and timely economic information from a dedicated team of industry experts.
